Manchester just blew up some Arsenal!!

Do you?? Still? Seriously... copyright@Soccernet.espn
Honestly, I'm not much of a fan of the EPL. But watching the major rivalries in this league is a treat, whether it be Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, City or the rest. For some reason, I always felt the style that Arsenal plays is distinct from those of the other League contenders.
However, the fact that they have been on a downward spiral for quite some time is a point noted and still not rectified. Whether its just PLAIN IGNORANCE or PLAIN ARROGANCE, maybe yesterday's defeat WILL be an eye opener. But please don't come back with:

Our players are ALWAYS INJURED. ( Now who's fault is that???? If a player is not FIT, don't let him play, rather than let him play, get worse, and keep him on bench all Season. PLZzzz.. )
We nurture our youth into world class players. Come on, if there is no future, then why shouldn't they look for greener pastures.
Arsenal is still a team to look out for, but with this defeat, I seriously wonder whether even a trampoline would help for them to get back to the top position.

This Season, as one of my friend mentioned, Manchester United is a team to look out for and up till now, they are sublimely fitting into that category.

I hope Liverpool is back this season. I haven't been quite IN LOVE with them for a long while. The last I remember seeing some of their magic was at the Champion's League finals with AC Milan and what a treat that turned out to be. If I remember right, I was supposed to be studying for a back paper exam the next day but rather watched the finals at Kinan's house. Can't even remember how I fared in the exam... Hmmm...

As for Man City, they also are a force to reckon with this season. Now that's what I call good management. Buy the right players at the right time. But still, will have to wait some more to see if they will live up to what they have in the making.

As for the other teams, Tottenham, Newcastle, etc.. I am still in THREE minds on watching their games. Not that they don't have a good team or great players, but is it worth the 1.5 hours??? You tell me...

Burj Al Shawarma???

Step aside Burj Khalifa, and Burj Al-Arab, Dubai has something tall and tasty to offer. Yes its a tower, yet its not the same kind. Its a Burj made of Mutton (Or our very own Shawarma).
Now why didn't any of us think of this earlier?

The rotisserie of meat was made by The Donér Restaurant in Jumeirah, Dubai and weighed 468kg at a height of 3m and a width of 60cm. Supposedly all this meat was distributed among charity organizations feeding around 3000 people.

Anyway this huge piece of meat has entered the Guinness book of World Records. Let's hope this will be a precedent to other countries in the Middle East.

My mouth is already watering.. think I should go and get myself one of the miniature ones for the time being.

Finally the Group Stages for this year's Champion's League season have been drawn. I think Group A, D, F and H are tough. Keeping my fingers crossed for Barca (even though that wont be required).

Yuri Kane - Right Back (Craving and Howe Remix)

how much i missed my car..

I just realized how much I missed my car these past few months that I was out of town. No its not a Dodge, nor a Ferrari. Its just a CAMRY (yea I know a MALU car) to all of us in Kuwait. But still its my FERRARI, my OWN money. There's no more joy in knowing that you earned enough to buy your own car without Dad's finance. :)

But the reason I missed it most, was how the music at full volume always turned me ON no matter what the heat was like outside or how fucked up my day at work was. Music always flowed into me and somehow I could never resist imagining I was Michael Schumacher's prodigy. Today listening to Yuri Kane - Right back (Craving and Howe remix) at full blast, I just remembered what it felt like, all those goose bumps on my skin. Brrrrr..

If you haven't heard this track yet, I suggest you do  AND IN YOUR CAR PROVIDED YOU HAVE A GOOD SYSTEM.

The Secret Diary of Rahul Dravid, Aged 29792 Balls

Up early for a bit of private practice on my own. I've got a machine set up to simulate the sort of questions that Ian Ward might be asking me at the end of the day's play. It generates gushing compliments and I work on sidestepping them neatly, back and across, back and across, playing with a straight bat: "Of course, it's nice to do well but the team is what is most important."
After a few hours of that it's time to tidy up the dressing room.
Gave Sreesanth his rusk. Did some fitness training; Virender asked me if I wouldn't mind doing his as well. Said okay. He hurt his shoulder reaching for a particularly well-stuffed, heavy piece of pizza.

O.M.G I'm back again!!

So finally I'm back to Kuwait from my long trip to India. YES the trip did have its share of GOOD and BAD TIMES, and I'm not complaining. Just glad that I am back safe and I was able to have those times rather than whine about not having any at all.
Lost a few good college juniors to accidents, that was a real shock of an event and its still getting hard to digest the fact that they aren't with us anymore. Such incidents are massive tremors and the after effects haunt you in ways that are unclear.
Life works in mysterious ways; looks like I am still way behind in getting a degree in that.
Hmmmm..I wonder if there is a Bachelors in LIFE Degree?? Now that I have thought about it, as a follow up post I'm going to create an imaginary course and see what all crap I can write on it! :)
( Suhail if you reading this some time, you can rant out all you can think off over here! :p )

Think I better sign off, its Thursday Night. And in Kuwait, Thursday night has one special meaning. IT'S PS3 night.

Drunk and loving it

Copyright@Joel Johnson
Well, some nights are just nights, and some nights are meant to be awesome nights. Nothing better than a night, that involves brandy, whiskey, some beer (knock out) and A game of TABOO. Well its weird! Its not a normal night.. that i can tell you for sure. For one thing, life is different, there are so many things that you learn as the going gets tough or just as simple as the going goes on.. It doesn't matter how far you go, it just matters how far you go before you realize what it is that makes a real difference in your life.
I just realized that life has so many factors that you would never realize in your normal sense, which in real does have some effect on your life. Its hard to explain. But that's the way it is. There is no normalcy in that. Its just the way it is.
In short, life IS SHORT, you don't know when, you don't know why, you can be for sure how long or why, why something is right or something is not! But all i'll say for now, LIFE can be a moment or can be a period, it depends on how long you want it to be and how you want to keep it that way and the best moments in life is not trying to figure out what you want from it, rather what more you think you can make out of it.
So on that note, lets just think about it, get drunk about it, and keep wondering who and what it is that makes your life.. YOUR LIFE!!!

TONIGHT cheers to those who made it a special night...
Linz, Joel, Roshan and Sherin,,

Life is Short, we got just one of it to live.. and LIVE IT and not FUCK IT!!!

Viva la Raza.

Numero Uno

After a night of seeing what I can do with this baby, I seem to have understood the modus operandi of blogging and I must say that it wasn't as hard as I imagined. All it needed was a lot of time, research and there you go I got it this far.
Even though its not much, a lot more posts and I should be able to make it quite interesting. Hmmm..
