I'm a bit late, but if I don't write a word or 2 on the Messiah, it would be disrespectful to him as a fan. ;)
Lionel Andres Messi or better known as Messi turned 25 and still having not yet reached the prime of his career has surpassed records and accomplishments many galore. This guy is a freaking goal scoring machine.. his puny/chubby appearance may mislead you, but he isn't called a magician on the field for no reason!
Messi has already received 2 Ballon d'Ors, 1 Fifa World Player of the year, won 5 La Liga titles and 3 Champion's League titles. In 2008, he won his first international honor, an Olympic gold medal, with the Argentina Olimpic Football team.
Some of his many records:
Most goals scored in a single UEFA Season: 14
Most goals scored in a single league season: 50
Most La liga hat-tricks in a season: 8
Most UEFA UCL hat tricks: 3
Only player to receive the UEFA top scorer award 4 years in a row.
Keep going on Messi boy, and love the fact that I have been lucky enough to watch the best footballer ever to have played on Earth in my lifetime! Hoping for many more Messi magical moments. Ciao!
Read this article in the NDTV sports section recently:
Beijing:A
die-hard Chinese fan of the England football team died at his home in
Changsha in Hunan province after continuously watching games for 11
nights since the start of Euro 2012.
The 26-year-old man died June 19. He was said to be healthy and fit,
and one who played for his college soccer team, the China Daily
reported.
The man watched a match between Italy and Ireland, and
drank a lot of beer with his friends in a bar till 5 a.m. June 19. He
returned home to sleep, from which he never woke up. His mother found him dead on the bed, when she tried to wake him up June 20.
A
doctor said multiple factors led to the man's death, including
prolonged sleep deprivation, massive amounts of beer, a bath after
drinking as well as a low indoor temperature. The cause of death was low blood sugar and slow blood circulation.
30 seconds to lift up your spirits! Jus 30 seconds.. I cudnt stop laughing after seeing this ad! Reminds me of some of those crazy shit we did in college.. Right guys? ;)Mirindaaaaaaah...
Lately there have been a lot of events and its as if someone has been playing crazy lil pinball games with my mind. I have been wanting to write a post on some of it, but the thoughts keep coming in random bolts or bursts which I can't piece together to make sense of it all. That state of mind you are in when you have awoken from sleep after having dreamed of inconsequential events, and do not make sense, yet you try to figure out whether there can possibly be any real sense into it. I still don't make sense, I KNOW.. but giving a try and seeing if something does come out of this.
Change.. 'To give a completely different form or appearance to'.
I've never quite understood this.. It can be a person, it can be a situation, it can be an event.. I'm trying to put a whole philosophical element into this definition. Why do we change? Why can't we be how we are when were little? Be our natural self. Do we like the change or just accept it and go ahead?
I for one being a stubborn egoistic jerk, was never a fan of change and I still get pissed off at the silliest reasons. But nowadays everyone is so busy, no one tries to appreciate the little bundles of freedom or excitement. New commitments, new habits, making money, new job.. fuck.. there's no time for life!! I am someone who would want to run away at the hint of a commitment/ responsibility, but I have started to appreciate all those who take that plunge towards commitment. I wish I could let go easily, as if all the excess baggage I've been
carrying were lost in some transit flight and irretrievable. By letting go, you are actually clearing space for something new and exciting to happen. Change happens whether you like it or not, but learning how it affects you and accepting it with arms wide open is when you have matured enough. It doesn't mean you change your color completely and camouflage yourself into being someone else. Just be true to yourself in the end.
No way I can accept such big changes with arms wide open, but probably hands wide open.. for a start.. YES!!
And yes that's why I'm 'SWITCHING LANES' yet again.. Dividing my life into different phases is what made me realize that I have switched lanes a couple of times to adapt to what is currently happening. So if long time back I was in the fast track and then sobered down to the slow track and then met with a few punctures or accidents on the way, what I noticed is its always good to be in the middle lane. Being realistic, down to earth, happy go lucky and positive... a few of those attributes we need in life to appreciate those little bundles of joy and freedom.
Lastly what I need to do.. to keep my self in this track is to make that occasional trip to somewhere unknown, some place away from all the hassles of reality, where its just you and nature.. some holy lake to wash yourself clean.. a place where you shout out your emotions..and GET HIGH on this four letter word called L.I.F.E!
On that note.. here is a song called Another Perfect day by the band American Hi Fi.. Again its the Lyrics that make the song more special than the Music..
I'm holding on, waiting for your call
It's simple, but I can't explain this
I'm sinking down; I feel like I could die
I'm falling off; I don't know why
[Chorus:]
I still believe it when you say
It's another perfect day
Another perfect day
I still believe it when you say
It's another perfect day
Another perfect day
So I might try to leave it all behind
I know tomorrow's not so bright now
I'll say goodbye 'cause nothing good can last
(You wear and figured no where fast)
And today I don't know how to keep it all inside
But I guess I'll let it slide
[Chorus]
Today I don't know why
I thought that it was real
But I guess it's no big deal
